The Earth is made up of different layers. The Earth has a very hot inner core, which is the hottest part of the Earth. The next layer is called the outer core and it is also very hot, but not as hot as the inner core. The next layer is the mantle. It is the thickest layer and it is made of hot, thick rock. The upper part of the mantle is called the lithosphere, and it is rigid and rocky. The next layer is the crust, and this is the layer that we live on. The crust is made of hot, rocky material and it is broken into different pieces that move around called tectonic plates.
