ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Subahdar

A subahdar is a person who was in charge of a group of soldiers during a time when there were big battles and wars happening in India. The subahdar was like the leader of a team of soldiers and he would tell them what to do and where to go during the battle. Think of it like your teacher at school who tells you and your classmates what to do during class. The subahdar was a very important person because he was responsible for making sure that his soldiers stayed safe and that they were fighting in the right place at the right time. Kind of like a coach in a sports game!
