ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sublinear functional

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a bunch of toys that you like to play with. Now, imagine I ask you to count all your toys one by one, it might take you a long time especially if you have a lot of toys.

A sublinear functional is just like this - it's a special way mathematicians count things. But instead of toys, they count how much something costs or how much power something uses.

Now, instead of counting one by one, they use a shortcut called a sublinear functional. It's like looking at all your toys at once and adding up their value, without having to count them one by one. This is really helpful when you have a lot of toys, or in math when you're dealing with a lot of numbers.

So, when someone asks you to find the total cost of your toys, you can use a sublinear functional to quickly figure it out. Pretty cool, huh?
