ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Submittals (construction)

When we build something like a house, we need to make sure we have all the right parts and instructions to put it together. The parts and instructions are what we call "submittals." It's like when mom or dad gives us a recipe to bake cookies, we need to make sure we have all the ingredients and instructions before we can start.

So, the people who make and sell the parts for building the house will send their submittals to the people who are building the house. The people who are building the house will review the submittals to make sure everything they need is in there and they understand how to put it together.

This is important because if they don't review the submittals carefully and something is missing, they might have to stop building and wait for the missing part or information. And that can take longer and cost more money. So, it's very important to check the submittals carefully.
