Sudan

Sudan is a country in Africa. It has a very long history, but most people know it because it has been in the news in recent years. It is a very large country and its capital city is Khartoum. Sudan has lots of people who live there, lots of animals, and lots of desert. It is a very hot place and people in Sudan often wear long, light clothing to help keep them cool. Sudan has lots of desert but also lots of farms and people who grow crops like sorghum and sesame. Sudan also has some very special animals, like the wild African elephant and the rare white rhino. There are also many different cultures and languages in Sudan. People of different religions have been living together in Sudan for centuries. Sudan's government has had some big problems in the past, but since then it has worked hard to make things better for the people living there.
