Suevite is a special kind of rock that forms when really big things hit the Earth really hard, like a meteorite or a comet. When these things crash into the Earth, they make a huge hole in the ground and throw dirt, rocks, and even bits of the meteorite or comet all around. When all that stuff settles back down, it gets super hot and smooshy because of the impact. Over time, the hot and smooshy stuff hardens into a special kind of rock called suevite. Scientists study suevite to learn more about what happens when big things from space hit our planet, and it can also tell us about things that happened millions of years ago!
