The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is launching soon, and it needs protection from the bright Sun! This is why it has a "sunshield" to protect it from the intense heat and light from the Sun. The sunshield is made up of five different layers of special material, like a quilt, that blocks the heat and light from the Sun. It works like wearing a coat to keep you warm on a cold day. The shield is also big enough to cover an entire soccer field! It's really amazing how it will keep the telescope safe and make sure it can take the best pictures ever!
