Superfund

Superfund is a program made by the United States government to help keep people safe from dangerous places. When a place is so polluted with toxic chemical waste that it's hurting people, the government can declare it a Superfund site. The government then uses money from taxes to clean up the site and make it safe for people to use. Superfund makes sure the environment and people living near these sites are protected.
