Superperfect number

A superperfect number is a very special number that has a lot of factors. A "factor" is a number that can divide into another number without leaving any leftovers. For example, the number 12 has factors of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12.

Superperfect numbers are even numbers (which means they can be divided by two) and they have a lot of factors. They have so many factors that if you add up all the factors of the number (except for the number itself) and then multiply that sum by 2, you get the number again!

For example, the number 16 is a superperfect number. Let's see why:

The factors of 16 (except for 16) are 1, 2, 4, and 8.
If we add those up, we get 1+2+4+8=15.
Now, if we multiply 15 by 2, we get 30.
And, ta-da! 16 is double 30!

There are not many superperfect numbers, and they are very special and rare. Scientists and mathematicians are still trying to understand why some numbers are superperfect and others are not.
