Supply network

Imagine you are having a birthday party and you want to invite all your friends. You cannot do it alone as you need help from your parents to organize the party. Your mom prepares a list of things needed for the party like balloons, cake, decorations, and party hats, among others.

To get all these things, your mom needs to go to different stores to buy them. She goes to the cake shop to buy the cake, party store to buy the decorations, and toy store to buy the gifts. Each store provides a different product that is needed for the party.

This process of buying the products from individual stores and combining them for a common purpose is known as a supply network. The supply network comprises many people, stores, and distributors who work together to provide a specific product or service to its end customers.

In other words, a supply network is like a chain where each link is connected to the next one until the final product reaches the customer. It is important to have an efficient supply network as it ensures that the right product reaches the right customer at the right time.
