Surface area

Surface area is how much area the outside of something has. Imagine you have a cube made out of toy blocks. The surface area of that cube would be how much the outside of the cube covers, including all the sides. If you added another block and made the cube bigger, the surface area would go up because more area outside the cube is covered.
