ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Suspicion (emotion)

Have you ever felt like something was not quite right but you couldn't explain why? That feeling you have is called suspicion, which is when you believe that something is not true or someone is hiding something.

For example, if someone told you they didn't eat the cookies but you see crumbs all over their face and hands, you might become suspicious that they actually did eat the cookies. Sometimes suspicion is based on evidence and sometimes it is just a feeling you have.

People feel suspicion when they think that something is wrong or they are not being told the whole truth. It is a natural emotion that helps us be careful and cautious. It's important to ask questions if you have suspicions, but it's also important to keep an open mind and not jump to conclusions too quickly.
