ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sustainable packaging

Sustainable packaging means that the boxes, bags or containers that we use to store and transport our food or other things are made in a way that is good for the environment. So, let's say you buy crackers at the store. If the box they come in is made from materials that are easily recyclable or come from sustainable sources, that's sustainable packaging.

It's important to have sustainable packaging because we want to take care of the earth and not cause too much pollution or waste. When we use materials that are not sustainable, like plastic, for example, they can take a really long time to break down, and they can end up polluting the environment. That's bad for animals, oceans, and for us humans too.

Some examples of sustainable packaging include boxes made from recycled paper, bags made from organic cotton, and containers made from bamboo or other biodegradable materials. When we use these kinds of packaging, we're doing our part to help protect the planet!
