ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Syādvāda

Syādvāda is a type of thinking used in Jainism. It is based on the idea that when two people are talking about something, they may hold different opinions. To show respect for multiple points of view, Syādvāda says that instead of saying “yes” or “no” to an idea, we should say something like “maybe yes” or “maybe no”. This way, we can agree and disagree at the same time and show respect for different opinions.
