Sycophancy

Sycophancy is when people flatter and agree with someone even if they don't mean it just to try to get something from them. It's like when you pretend to like a toy your friend has even if you don't just so they will let you play with it. Sycophants want something from the person they are being nice to, so they act like they think the person is wonderful.
