The Sykes–Picot Agreement was a plan made during World War 1 between two countries, France and Great Britain, to divide parts of the Middle East. It said that France would take control of part of the Middle East and Great Britain would take part of the Middle East. The agreement helped create the countries we see in the Middle East today, like Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.
