Synchrotron radiation

Synchrotron radiation is a kind of light that is made when tiny particles move around in circles at very high speeds. Scientists use powerful machines called synchrotrons to make the particles move around really fast, so that they can get the special kinds of light that the synchrotron radiation makes. Synchrotron radiation can be used to take very detailed pictures, which helps us understand how things work.
