ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SystemRDL

Okay kiddo, have you ever played with building blocks? Each block can be put together in different ways to create something new, right? Well, a computer hardware design is kind of like building blocks too!

Now imagine we want to describe how all these building blocks - called registers - should be connected together to make a computer. We need a language to do that, and that's where SystemRDL comes in.

SystemRDL is a way for people to write down how a computer's registers work and how they connect to each other. It's like writing an instruction manual for building a computer.

Using SystemRDL makes it easier for people who build computer hardware to understand how everything works, and make sure that the computer they build is reliable and does what it's supposed to do.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
