ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

T-glottalization

T-glottalization is when English speakers replace the 't' sound in words like "button" or "butter" with a quick burst of air coming from the back of the throat instead of making the 't' sound with their tongue. It's similar to swallowing the 't' sound instead of saying it out loud. It's a common way of speaking in some dialects, but you might not hear it in other parts of the English-speaking world. Some people might not like it because it sounds different from what they're used to hearing, but it's just another way of speaking English.
