Glottalization

Glottalization is when you make a special sound by squeezing your throat. Your throat has a tiny flap called the glottis, and when you squeeze your throat, your glottis flaps really fast to make the sound. It's kind of like blowing a raspberry with your mouth but in your throat instead. People use glottalization in different ways when they talk or sing. Some languages use it a lot, while others do not use it at all. Some people also use glottalization for emphasis or to show that they are angry or irritated. Overall, glottalization is just a special sound you can make with your throat to add more meaning or expression to what you are saying or singing.
