Tab-separated values (or TSV) is a type of text file that uses tabs, which are special symbols, to separate different pieces of information (also called values). These values can be words, numbers, dates, or any other type of information. Each line of the text file usually has the same types of values in the same order, but different lines might contain different values. TSV is often used to store data from databases so it can be read by different kinds of computer programs.
