Taiwanese push car railways

Do you know what a train is? It's like a big, long car that can carry lots of people and things. Now, in Taiwan, they have a special kind of train called a push car railway.

Instead of having a big engine in front pulling the train, the push car railway has a small, little car that's called a "push car." This push car pushes the train from behind to make it move.

But how does the push car know where to go? Well, there are special tracks on the ground that the push car follows. These tracks have little bumps and grooves that the push car wheels can follow, like a road map for trains.

The push car pulls a long rope behind it, which is called a "bowstring." The train is connected to this bowstring and it helps to keep the train moving in a straight line.

Push car railways are often used in places where there are lots of hills or mountains, because it's easier for a small push car to climb up and down than a big engine. Plus, they're also quieter and more environmentally friendly than regular trains.

Isn't it cool how they figured out a way to move a train without a big engine? Next time you see a train, maybe you can imagine a little push car helping it move along!
