Tanegashima (gun)

Tanegashima is a type of gun that was invented a long time ago in Japan. It's named after the island where it was first made.
It's a big metal tube that can shoot out small bullets called pellets. The way it works is that you put gunpowder and a pellet into the tube, then light the gunpowder on fire. When the gunpowder goes off, it pushes the pellet out of the tube really fast. This is called a shot.
Tanegashima guns were very important in Japan because they helped protect people from enemies who wanted to do them harm. They also helped people hunt animals for food. Nowadays, there are many different types of guns and they are used for different things like hunting, protection, and in wars.
