Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes things get hot and you can feel the heat on your skin? Well, scientists have a special tool called a tasimeter that helps them measure how hot things are.
The tasimeter works by using something called infrared light, which is a type of light that we can't see with our eyes but we can feel as heat. The tasimeter shines this infrared light on an object and then measures how much of the light is reflected back.
If the object is really hot, then more of the infrared light will be reflected back to the tasimeter, which tells the scientist that the object is hot. And if the object is not very hot, then less of the light will be reflected back, which tells the scientist that the object is cool.
Scientists use tasimeters to measure things like the temperature of the sun or the heat given off by a fire. It helps them learn more about the world around us and how things work. Pretty cool, huh?
