Tauc plot

Tauc plot is a way to understand how light interacts with different materials. It's kind of like a big puzzle that scientists put together to figure out what materials are made of and how they behave.

You know that when you shine a light on something, it can be reflected or absorbed. Well, scientists shine light of different colors onto materials and look at how much is absorbed or reflected. They then plot this on a graph (with energy on one axis and absorbance on the other) to get a tauc plot.

This plot helps scientists understand what kind of material they're dealing with. For example, it can tell them if the material is a metal or a semiconductor. It can also give them insight into how the material will behave if they try to use it for something like solar cells or computer chips.

So tauc plot might seem complicated, but it's really just a tool that scientists use to help them understand materials better.
