Taxicab geometry

Taxicab geometry is a type of geometry that is similar to the usual geometry you know, but distances are measured differently. In ordinary geometry, the distance between two points is measured using a straight line. In taxicab geometry, the distance is measured using the number of left and right turns and the number of blocks a taxi would have to travel to get to the same two points. This is like navigating through a city and having to only turn left and right around corners.
