Teouma

Teouma is a place in the country of Vanuatu, which is an island nation in the South Pacific. People have been living in Teouma for a very long time, even before anyone wrote anything down about it.

Scientists go to Teouma to learn about the history of the people who have lived there. They dig holes in the ground to find things that people left behind a long time ago, like bones, ancient pots, and stones that were used to make tools.

The things that scientists find in Teouma help them imagine what life might have been like a very long time ago. They can see how people used to cook their food, what they might have eaten, and what kinds of tools they used.

Teouma is important because it helps us learn about the history of people who lived a long time ago, before there were books or computers to write things down.
