Terrace (building)

A terrace is a building that has a flat or partly flat roof that is used as a place to sit or relax outdoors. It might have a stone or brick wall around it, or it might be open with no walls. Sometimes, it is hard to tell the difference between a patio and a terrace — a patio is usually open but a terrace is usually enclosed.
