ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Terrace Crossing

So imagine you're walking to your friend's house, and there's a really big hill you have to climb up to get there. But instead of climbing up the hill straight, there are little flat parts called terraces that you can walk on for a bit before climbing up to the next one.

That's basically what a terrace crossing is. It's a bridge that goes over a big hill, but instead of going straight up and down like a traditional bridge, it goes up and down in little flat parts (terraces) like stairs. That way, cars or trains can go up the hill without having to go straight up and make everyone dizzy.
