A Tesla turbine is a special type of fan that was invented by inventor Nikola Tesla in the early 1900s. It works by using a series of discs that spin really fast. The discs are placed close together so that when air is forced into the middle of them, it pushes them apart, making them spin quickly. The air that pushes the discs apart makes them turn a shaft, and it's that turning that produces the power that the turbine is used for. All that the turbine needs to run is air (no fuel) and it's relatively small and quiet. It's still not used widely, but it is useful in some situations!
