ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tesla valve

Okay, imagine you have two paths, like a maze. One path is straight and narrow, while the other is a bit curvy. Now, if you put water in these paths, which path do you think the water will flow through faster? Most people would say the straight path, but this is where the Tesla Valve comes in.

The Tesla Valve is like a maze for fluids, but it's made of metal. The metal has a lot of holes in it, and these holes are shaped in a way that when fluid enters one end, it's forced to take a curving path, just like in the second path of our maze example.

This curving path slows down the fluid, which creates pressure differences within the metal maze. These pressure differences then make the fluid flow in one direction, while stopping it from flowing back the other way.

The Tesla Valve is used in some machines to make sure fluids go in one direction only, like in car engines or air-powered tools. It's a very clever way to control fluid flow without using any moving parts, making it simple and reliable.
