ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Texians

Texians were the people who lived in Texas a long long time ago. They were a special group of people who loved their land and wanted to protect it. They were like superheroes because they fought against bad guys who wanted to do mean things to their land.

You see, Texas used to belong to Mexico, but the Texians didn't want to follow Mexico's rules. They wanted to have their own rules and be in charge of their own land. So, they fought and won against Mexico in a big battle called the Battle of San Jacinto.

Eventually, Texas became its own country with its own army, flag, and government. And the people who lived there were called Texians because they were proud to be from Texas.

Today, Texians are still the people who call Texas their home and they still have a strong sense of pride and love for their state.
