ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

The End of the Line (book)

"The End of the Line" is a book about how some animals in the ocean are in trouble because people are doing things that hurt them. It explains how people catch a lot of fish and shrimp from the ocean, but they sometimes catch too much and don't let enough fish and shrimp grow up before catching them again. This means there are fewer fish and shrimp left in the ocean for other animals to eat, like whales and dolphins, who need a lot of food to survive.

The book also talks about how people sometimes throw things like plastic and garbage into the ocean, which can hurt sea creatures. It explains how, when animals eat this garbage, it can make them very sick and even kill them.

But, the book also gives some good news! It talks about how there are things people can do to help the animals in the ocean, like fishing in a way that doesn't catch too many fish or shrimp, and remembering to throw trash in the garbage instead of in the ocean. The book encourages people to work together to take care of the ocean and all of the animals that live there.
