The Fibonacci Association

The Fibonacci Association is named after an Italian mathematician, Leonardo Fibonacci, who lived in the 1200s. He discovered a pattern in numbers called the Fibonacci Sequence. The Fibonacci Sequence is a pattern where each number is the sum of the two numbers before it. It looks like this: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89 and so on. When two numbers in the sequence get closer and closer together, they create something called the Fibonacci Ratio, which is 1.618. This ratio is used by the Fibonacci Association to help analyze patterns in nature, stocks, and other things. The Fibonacci Association provides a way for people to use math to learn more about the world around us.
