The Meatrix
Do you like cows? Well, some people like to eat cows and get their meat from them. But did you know that sometimes cows are not treated very nicely? The meatrix is a little story that wants to teach us about how some cows are treated and why it's important to know where our food comes from. In the meatrix, there are some animals who live in a place called a factory farm. It's not a nice place for cows to live because they don't get to go outside and play in the grass like they normally do. Instead, they are kept inside all the time and given things to eat that aren't very good for them.
But there is a little pig who wants to help the cows. He meets a cow who tells him all about the meatrix and how cows are being treated badly. So the pig decides to go on a journey to try to find out more about where his food comes from. He goes to a place called a feedlot where cows are fed things that they shouldn't be eating. He also visits a slaughterhouse where cows are killed and made into meat.
At the end of the story, the pig realizes that we can all do something to help the cows. We can choose to buy meat from farms where cows are treated nicely and have space to roam outside. This makes the cows happy and gives us better meat to eat. So, remember, the meatrix teaches us to be kind to cows and to think about where our food comes from!
