The National Archives (United Kingdom)

The National Archives in the United Kingdom is a big building where lots of important papers and records are kept. Think of it like a very big cupboard full of important documents!

These documents can be really, really old – some go all the way back to the 11th century! There are lots of different things in there, like old maps, letters written by important people, and even pictures and photos from the past.

All these papers are kept in the National Archives because they are important to the history of the UK. It's a bit like keeping a scrapbook of important things that have happened in the past, so that people can look back on them and learn more about what happened.

If you ever get the chance to visit the National Archives, you'll see lots of people working to keep all the papers safe and tidy. This is really important because the papers need to be looked after properly, so that they can still be read and enjoyed by lots of people in the future!
