The Sunflower Jam

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a sunflower? They are those really big and tall flowers that have yellow petals and a brown center. Well, sometimes people use the seeds from those flowers to make something called sunflower jam.

Firstly, the seeds need to be taken out of the sunflower head and washed carefully so that they are clean. Then the seeds are roasted or cooked until they are soft and gooey.

After that, some sugar and water is added to the mixture and it's warmed up to make the jam thicker. Sometimes, people put in some lemon juice too, which makes it taste a little tangy. When the mixture is at the right consistency, it's put into jars and left to cool.

And that's it, little one! Sunflower jam is ready to be eaten. It might be a bit unusual to you as it's not a common jam like strawberry or peach, but it's super tasty and also vegan-friendly!
