The White Man's Burden

The White Man's Burden is a phrase used to describe how European settlers, also known as white people, chose to take it upon themselves as a duty to spread their culture, language, and values to other countries in the world, especially in Africa and Asia. This included things like introducing new laws, government systems, and religion. The idea was that if white people did this, everyone in the world would be better off. However, this was not always the case and it affected the people in these countries in sometimes negative ways.
