ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

The king and the god

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled over his kingdom. He was the boss of the land and everyone had to listen to what he said. This king was also very religious and believed in a powerful being called God.

You remember how you have friends, and sometimes you have a best friend who you ask for help when you need it? Well, the king thought of God like his best friend who was always looking out for him and helping him in good times and bad.

In fact, the king believed that God was so important and powerful that he should be worshipped by everyone in the kingdom. So the king built big, beautiful temples for God and told everyone to come and pray to him.

The king also made sure that the laws he created for the kingdom followed what God wanted. He believed that by doing this, his people would be good and happy.

So, the king was both a ruler and a believer in God. He thought that by believing in God, he could be a good king and make his kingdom a better place for everyone who lived there.
