Thermae

Thermae is a fancy word that means a big place with lots of hot water that people go to relax and clean themselves. It's kind of like a giant bathtub, but with more fancy stuff.

Thermae were really popular a long time ago in ancient Rome. People would go to the thermae to clean themselves, but also to socialize and hang out with friends. It was a little like going to a pool party or a spa day today.

The thermae had different rooms for different temperatures of water, with the hottest being called the caldarium. People would also go to the thermae to exercise or get a massage.

Today, thermae can still be found in some places, like Japan and Iceland. They might look different from the ancient Roman ones, but they still have hot water and are a great place to relax and unwind.
