Third Generation of Nigerian writers

So, remember how you learn new words and stories when you read books? Well, in Nigeria, there have been special groups of people called writers who write stories and books for other people to read. And just like how you grow and change as you get older, these writers in Nigeria have also grown and changed over time.

The third generation of Nigerian writers means the group of writers who were born in Nigeria in the 1970s and 1980s and started writing books in the 1990s and 2000s. They are called the third generation because there were two groups of Nigerian writers before them who wrote during different times.

This third generation of writers started writing during a time when Nigeria was going through a lot of changes. They wrote about things like politics, culture, social issues, and identity. They wanted to share their experiences and the experiences of the people around them.

Some of these writers have become very famous. You might have heard of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who wrote the book "Americanah", or Ayobami Adebayo, who wrote the book "Stay With Me". These writers have won many awards and been recognized all around the world for sharing their stories.

So, the third generation of Nigerian writers are a group of special people who share their stories and experiences through books. They help us learn and understand more about Nigeria and the people who live there.
