ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Thread angle

Imagine you have two pieces of string and you want to tie them together. You would twist them around each other until they create a knot. The same thing happens when we screw in a bolt or a screw into a hole. The screw or bolt has a bunch of twists or threads that wrap around the insides of the hole. The angle of these threads is important because it determines how tightly the screw or bolt will hold in place. If the thread angle is too flat, the screw or bolt won't hold tightly and could fall out. If the thread angle is too steep, it could be difficult to screw it in and might even damage the hole. Just like when we tie a knot in a string, we need to make sure the thread angle is just right to make sure everything stays secure.
