Throw to the wolves

When we say "throw someone to the wolves," it means to put them in a dangerous or difficult situation without any help or protection.

Let's pretend you have a little toy sheep that you really love. But one day, someone takes your sheep and tosses it into a pack of hungry wolves who want to eat it. They are left alone with no help and no protection. This is a very scary and dangerous situation for the little sheep.

Now, think about if this happened to a person instead of a toy sheep. Being thrown to the wolves means someone is being put into a situation where they are alone and vulnerable, with no one to help them. This can be a really hard thing to go through, just like the little sheep being chased by the wolves. It's important to always try to help and protect those who might be thrown to the wolves, because being alone and helpless is not a good feeling.
