Tide mill

A tide mill is like a big machine that uses water and the tides to make things work. It's kind of like a water wheel that you might see at a park, but instead of using the water in a river, it uses water from the ocean.

When the tide comes in, it brings a lot of water with it, and that water is used to turn the big wheel. The wheel then turns other gears that make things work, like grinding wheat into flour or pumping water from one place to another.

When the tide goes out, the water goes away and the wheel stops turning. But it doesn't matter because the tide will come back in again soon and bring more water to turn the wheel.

People used tide mills a long time ago before there was electricity. They were really important for making things like bread or moving water around. Nowadays, we have other ways to make things work, but tide mills are still really cool to learn about!
