Tilley lamp

A Tilley lamp is a special kind of lamp that you can use when you don't have electricity or you're in the great outdoors. It works by burning fuel, like kerosene or gasoline, to create light.

The lamp has a big metal tank that you fill with fuel. There's also a small pump that you use to pressurize the fuel tank. When the fuel is pressurized, it flows through a tube to the top of the lamp, where a special part called a mantle sits.

The mantle is made out of a special cloth material that glows really brightly when it gets hot. When the fuel reaches the mantle, it lights on fire and heats up the mantle, which starts to glow and give off light. And voila! You've got light.

But the Tilley lamp isn't just any old lamp. It's really cool because you can adjust how bright it is by turning a special knob on the side. And there's even a special glass chimney that goes around the mantle to protect the flame from the wind.

So if you're ever camping, hiking, or just need a little extra light in a pinch, the trusty Tilley lamp is always there to save the day.
