Time-frequency representation

Time-frequency representation is a way of looking at something (like sound or a picture) over time and also showing how much of different kinds of sound or types of colors the thing has. When you look at a time-frequency representation, you can see things like when the sound gets louder or softer, when it changes pitch, or when certain colors become more or less dominant in a picture.
