- In 2007, Six Apart made some changes to the site that upset many users, causing them to leave the platform.
- In 2008, LiveJournal was sold to SUP Media, a Russian company.
- In 2011, LiveJournal underwent a redesign to make it more modern and appealing to new users.
- As of today, LiveJournal is still around, but it's not as popular as it used to be. Many people have moved on to other social media platforms, but there are still people who use LiveJournal to document their life and connect with others.
