Timeline of three longest spans

Okay kiddo, today we're going to learn about the timeline of three longest spans. Do you know what a "span" is? It's like a really long bridge or structure that goes over something else like a river or a valley.

So, let's start with the first longest span. It's called the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge and it was built in China. It's over 100 miles long! That's like driving the length of our whole town ten times. It took almost four years to build and was finished in 2010.

The second longest span is called the Changhua-Kaohsiung Viaduct and it's also in Asia, in Taiwan. It's almost 100 miles long, too! It took about eight years to build and was finished in 2013.

Finally, the third longest span is called the Cangde Grand Bridge, also in China. It's about 67 miles long, which is still longer than driving around our whole town. It took about three years to build and was finished in 2010, the same year as the first one.

So, those are the three longest spans in the world! They're all really long bridges that go over mountains and valleys, and they all took a really long time to build. Pretty cool, huh?
