Tinea cruris

Tinea cruris is a fancy way of saying fungal infection in the groin area. Fungal infection is when tiny germs called fungi grow in places where they shouldn't be, like on our skin. It's kind of like when we forget to clean up our toys and they start to pile up and cause a mess.

Our groin area can become a good place for the fungi to grow because it's warm and moist, like when we sweat or wear tight clothing. This can cause a rash or itchiness in the affected area. It's important to tell an adult if you feel rash or itchiness, especially in the groin area, so they can take you to the doctor for some medicine to help clear it up.

To help prevent tinea cruris or fungal infections in the future, it's important to keep the groin area clean and dry, wear comfortable and breathable clothing, and avoid sharing personal items like towels or underwear with others.
