Tollmann's bolide hypothesis

Tollmann's Bolide Hypothesis is a theory about a giant rock or meteor that crashed into Earth and caused a big explosion, a big wave, and lots of fire. The explosion was so big that it destroyed many things on Earth, like plants, animals, and even some towns and cities. This big explosion and wave is believed to be the cause of the Flood that is described in the Bible, which is a story about a big flood that happened a long, long time ago. Scientists have used this theory to explain why so many things were destroyed at once in a very short amount of time.
